I am originally from upstate New York, where I grew up on a dairy and Arabian horse farm. After college, I worked for eight years in Binghamton, New York. I worked in various settings including regular education, alternative education, special education, and administration.  I came to Arizona in June of 2005. I have been a special education teacher, third grade teacher, mentor teacher, master teacher, and 6th grade math teacher here. This is my fourteenth year in the Avondale School District and my twenty-second year in education!

My husband, 3 daughters, and I live in Goodyear. We are avid sports fans, which makes Phoenix an especially nice area to live. My favorite baseball team is the New York Mets, but we do enjoy D-Backs games on occasion. My husband works at a baseball spring training park, so baseball is a big part of our lives. We also enjoy Coyotes games and an occasional Cardinals or Suns game. When we’re not enjoying the local teams, we enjoy traveling around the country to other sports venues and to visit family in New York and Washington. We’re always on the go!
